Piney Forest

My Sunday, Monday and now Tuesday melt is Piney Forest.  I am so in love with this scent!  The scent is a combo of Forest Rain, Cedar, and Bayberry.  All of those scents you can get individually, however, I am not that fond of any of the scents alone, but this is AMAZING!

This scent reminds me of wet earth and pine trees.... like walking through the trees right after a nice rain.  Ahh!  I am seriously considering getting this scent in crumb melts.  Right now I have 4 jars of those: Peace, Lavender Vanilla, Vanilla Bean Noel, and Sugared Spruce.  I try to get crumbs in my favorite can't do without scents.  I can't believe I haven't gotten Raspberry Guava in crumbs yet, lol.  Anyway... off track... if you like earthy scents, this one might be up your alley.   :)  I probably won't be posting too much until after the weekend because we are having company.  Before I go, I want to let you know about the cool sale Candles by Victoria is having... the Super Bowl Half-time Sale!  The way it works is, that whatever the combined score of the two teams at the start of half-time is, that is how much % the sale will be, up to 25%.  The sale is only active DURING half-time, so you have to be quick!  Victoria did this last year and it was a hoot!  I am hoping for 20 total points because if not, I can't order.  Last year, it was 19%, so I went ahead... only 1% off, lol.  Have a good rest of the weekend and enjoy your weekend!

Pineapple Jasmine

Today's scent is Pineapple Jasmine... the description includes top notes of pineapples, pears, and apples, middle notes of ferns and clover, and bottom notes of jasmine and rose petals.  Wow!
I can't really pick out individual notes besides the pineapple and I would say it is the most predominant note, however, there is much more to this scent than that.  The other notes just blend in really well.  I may get a hint of pear and apple and a bit of green notes and maybe a powdery note from the rose and jasmine.  I liked this on cold sniff but warm.. OMG.. I love it!  There is something that is a bit nostalgic to me... I just can't place my finger on it.  I really recommend this scent, especially if you are looking for a tropical or fruity scent that is a bit different from the norm.   :)

Persimmon Fruit

Today's CBV scent is Persimmon Fruit.  The descriptions reads "an elegant blend of persimmon and white grapefruit with fragrant woods".
I was on the fence with this scent when I first smelled it cold.  However, I really do like it warm.  I don't have much to compare it with, as I have no clue what a persimmon smells like and don't know if there is a difference between a pink grapefruit and a white one.  I do get an earthy note, which makes me think of a masculine scent.  However, I guess the mix of the two fruits mellows that out and makes this a "uni-sex" scent in my mind.  I am not sure how much Cynthia liked it because she started to get a headache so we had to shut it off.  Her headache may or may not have been from the scent.  We will have to see if it happens again when we start melting it again tomorrow.  All I know it I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoy this as much as I do!  :)  Goes to show you, never judge a scent on cold sniff alone!

Feeling a Little Nutty Today! ;)

Since I am feeling a little "nutty" today after a busy day at work, I popped on the scent Nutty Candied Apple scent from CBV.  :)

This great apple scent that is a little bit different!  It smells like a crisp red apple with that yummy candy coating on it, rolled in peanuts or maybe pecans... but I think peanuts.  Just enough sweetness from the candy coating!  So good!

Maple Pecan Streusel

Today's CBV pick of the day was Maple Pecan Streusel.  YUM!  The scent description says "a sweet and sugary blend of maple and pecan capped off with homemade streusel.  This scent will make you drool!"  and it sure does, at least on cold sniff for me.
This is a pretty sweet scent, without the maple being completely overwhelming.  What is interesting, is I think I like it better cold.  Maybe in candle form I would like it more as well.  It isn't too strong, but it seems like the wax is getting too hot or something.. I get a little bit of a burnt note.... I don't know.. could be the pecans coming through.  I would like to try this in a 4 oz just to see how the candle differs from the scent shot.  Burning a candle gives you a "mellower" scent throw, instead of the "Pow" in your face that melting does.  :)

Today's Burn/Melt: Margarita Lime

This evening, we popped on Margarita Lime, which is described on the site as fresh lime with hints of lemon rind and fresh greenery.

I like this one better warm than cold, but it still not a favorite of mine.  When it first started warming up and melting, it reminded me of lemon Pledge spray... a pretty normal occurrence for my nose when it comes to lemon/lime scents.  It has been on the melter for about an hour and now it smells a bit more fresh and tart.  I get a hint of fresh greenery notes.. nothing I can really pick out but the scent seems more than just lime and lemon.  If you like other CBV lemon and lime scents, you will like this one.  You know... it is pretty similar to a mix of lime and lemon skittles!  I just thought of that while I was sniffing the air, lol.
Have a good night!

Orange Clove

Hey everyone!  It has been crazy busy here and I don't see it slowing down any time soon.  When I have been home, which has been here and there, we have had Orange Clove going.  This scent shot I got from my CBV Pouring Pot Secret Santa, Jandre.  This girl has an amazing nose!

As per the name, this scent is a mixture of orange and clove.  I was afraid that the clove would be too overpowering, but surprisingly it wasn't.  This is another of the few orange scents that do not remind me of cleaner... anything with spices in it usually takes that away for me.  I really, really like this one, especially for a holiday scent.  Thank you Jandre!  :)

It is really funny how the past few years of Secret Santa's have went.  Last year, I gifted to Jandre, this year she got me!  And the picks were done by Elfster.com so it was just kismet! If my memory serves me correct, which is not that reliable so don't quote me, my match was the same way the 2 years before as well!  Funny and cool huh?  :)

Christmas Scents - White Christmas and Star of Bethlehem

Sorry that it has been a while since I shared my CBV addiction with you.  Between work, school, and house/pet sitting, I have not been home much at all.  I hope you all had a amazing holiday and are excited about 2013... I know I am!

Over the Christmas holiday (Christmas Eve and Day) as well as New Year's Eve, I melted White Christmas and Star of Bethlehem.

White Christmas is described as white florals with pine.  Jason (charmedleo) has described it was the winter version of White Ginger, which I totally agree with.  The pine is really strong and there is a kinda spicy floral note, if that makes sense.  This sucker is STRONG!  I always melt in my bedroom, however, this one was too strong for that and had to be moved to the open living room area.  It was perfect in that large of a space.  This scent is a totally different type of Christmas scent, one that I really enjoy.  In candle form, I think it would be fine for my small bedroom, but melting is just too overpowering for such a small space.  I would like to try mixing this will Vanilla Bean Noel to soften it just a bit or even Sugared Spruce to sweeten the pine.

I received Star of Bethlehem from my CBV Pouring Pot Secret Santa, Jandre.  This is one that I have never tried and has now become one of my favorite holiday scents.  Thank you girl!  The scent description includes frankincense, orange, clove and cinnamon.  That being said, on warm throw, this is not an overly spicy scent.  I get mainly orange and clove, but the earthiness of the frankincense comes out to mellow it a bit.  I get a little bit of bakery like cinnamon but not a whole lot.  I really like this scent and I am so thankful that Jandre shared this scent with me.  :)

I think later today I might put on the other scent Jandre gave me, which is Orange and Clove.  :)

Before I sign off, I thought I would share our tree with you as well as a few images I captured of the snow crystals.  It was so cool to be able to see all the different shapes and designs of the snowflakes!  The camera wasn't able to capture it as my eyes saw it, but the images still turned out pretty cool looking!
