November Candles by Victoria order.. Wax Edition!

I was so excited to get this order and it did not disappoint!  Thanks so much to the CBV crew for filling this amazing order!  Love ya'll!
Ok, I know ya'll really want to get to the goods, so here we go!

Special Candles:

Maple Butter Pumpkin Frap - 20.00 – I just love how this looks!  On cold sniff, it smells just like fall spices and pumpkin pie.   It is not overly coffee scented.  We  am so glad that I order this baby!

Pumpkin Gingerbread Splash - 16.75 – This is just too adorable!  The top scent in this one is Spiced Pumpkin Chutney, which smells like pumpkin and spices.  This is another great fall candle… I just hate to see the little guy melting!

S'more Galore -20.00 – How yummy does this look?!   We don’t get a lot of scent yet, but I have heard this one needs a bit of cure time, plus the top is all Marshmallow Campfire so that is a pretty light scent.  But, come on!  We wanna grab a spoon and dig in!

8 oz Candles – No Frills Sampler Pack of 6 for 43.50

Raspberry Guava – an all time favorite of mine, very fruity and juicy.. must try if you like fruity scents!
Sonny & Cher-  such a great minty scent without being overpowering, the peppermint is sweetened by vanilla notes, bamboo and verbena.
Eskimo Kisses – spearmint sweetened by vanilla bean noel, so fresh and cooling
Cafe' Au Lait – rich coffee sweetened with a bit of vanilla
Lemon Gingersnap Pie-  smells like lemon pound cake with the kick of ginger snap cookies!
Neptune's Oasis -  a very clean scent that does not have that “bite” like some salty sea scents.. that note is there but is softened by florals
*Also pictured is Refresher Oil – ½ oz for 7.50

Tomahawk Memories  - I knew I would love this scent has some of my favorite scents in it… Sugared Spruce, Autumn Leaves and Peace.  But I loved it even more than I imagined I would when I smelled it!  Thank you Deb for creating and inspiring this scent!  We picked this scent to refresh our car air freshener that is hanging on the rearview mirror.  Just drop a bit on the worn out one and Voila!

Scent Shots – 2.00 for regular scents, 3.25 for Black Label scents

Faerie Ring – mix of Raspberry Violet and Apples & Oaks; very well balanced with easily detectable notes; sweet raspberries, juicy apples, delicate violets, and woody oak. LOVE!
Mango Sorbett -  Now I get what the rave is about concerning this scent!  Juicy and refreshing… with a bit of tartness in the background from the lemon and raspberry.
Sugared Corn Pudding -  This one is different… cold it smells like butter with sugar/caramel on it. It seems like you could gain weight just sniffing this!  I am curious how this is going to smell warmed.
Honey Vanilla Love Dust  - Oh my!  Smells like milk chocolate with just a drizzle of honey… to die for!
Granny's Pie Crust – smells like a homemade pie crust fresh out of the oven; I do think this one is one that needs to be warmed to be fully appreciated.
A Hunk, A Hunk of Burning Nuts – mix of Elvis and Caramelized Pralines; Cynthia likes this more Elvis.  It is like a richer version of Elvis… yum!
Because Of You – very complex!  Our noses pick up the floral and musk notes more than the fruity notes
Sugar Kisses – mix of Raspberry Guava and Cotton Candy; so freaking good!  The Cotton Candy adds a sweetness but isn’t so sweet it gives you a “toothache”.  Great blend!
What Goes Around Comes Around – Dragon’s Blood and patchouli; musky but feminine; a bit like incense; We like it, just have to see if the amount of patchouli in it gives me a headache
Melsea – combination of Blushing Peaches and Me Tarzan You Jane; named after Chelsea and Melissa, Victoria’s daughters;  unique blending that is shockingly incredible!  The earthiness of the fig with the freshness of peaches, strawberries and vanilla.
Breaking Dawn – a bit of Bella, Edward and Jacob’s characters; tough, floral and sexy all at the same time!  Notes that our noses pick up are musk, oranges, lime, violet petals, ginger, and a bit of woodsy undertones.  It reminds me a bit of orange scented Pledge, but in a nice way.. I don’t mind it at all!
Pumpkin Chocolate – creamy pumpkin with milk, white and dark chocolate; We are on the fence on this one…. it has a sour note that we are not digging right now.  I hope with a bit of cure time and warmed up , it will become amazing!
You & I – another complex one!  Green tomato leaf , citrus notes, and a hint of floral and woods.  I have found that I am not a big fan of scents with “sharp” notes in them like the green tomato leaf, but Cyn is really enjoying this scent.
Banana Brown Sugar Drizzle – bananas and brown sugar, with a hint of crème brulee;  When we first opened the box,  this reminded me of banana nut bread, not so much now.  More just like the description says.
Banana Walnut – This does smell like warm banana bread!  AMAZING!
Bayberry – woodsy with touch of eucalyptus; This is ok… not a favorite.  Just doesn’t blend right for our noses, a bit medicinal to Cyn
Let It Snow – eucalyptus, cinnamon and peppermint; The first thing that hits is the peppermint, followed by a hint of eucalyptus in the background.  I like this more than Cynthia.
White Christmas – Thank you Jason for reviewing this one!  This is white florals and Christmas tree… so very different and unique.  A must try for a different holiday fragrance!  No spices in this one.
Christmas Memories – Sugared spruce, spiced oranges, and cranberry;  Spiced oranges hits the nose first, followed by a tartness and a background of sugary pine.
Pumpkin Apple Cinnamon Bread – Well rounded scent with each component given its moment to shine!  Not overly spicy so those that don’t like spicy scents, this might be one to try.  Even has a doughy note!
Bergamot and Herbal Mint – I got this one because I heard that it was close to a scent that BBW used to carry called Tranquil Mint.  I must say that it is pretty close… I might add a bit of VBN to mellow it just a touch.  It is a very nice mint with hints of citrus and cucumber.
Berry Blackberry Cobbler – I can’t find this description of this one, but it does have that cobbler note that Vic’s cobbler scents are known for, as well as the notes of blackberries and possibly blueberries.  Very nice!
Bonfire Bliss – very complex and intriguing!  It is a bit too strong with the wood notes for Cynthia, but I adore it.  Along with notes of charred pine and cedar, this scent has notes of dried leaves, sandalwood, marshmallows, and coconut.   I think Cynthia would like it more mixed with a bit of Marshmallow Campfire scent.
Barefoot In Blue Jeans – combo of Sexy in Stilettos and Blue Sugar Cotton Candy… this is an awesome blend of the two sexes.  Sweet and sassy, plus tough and rugged.
Captain Crunch Berries – just like the cereal!  My favorite of the cereal dupes, while Cyn’s favorite is Fruit Loops.  I love the berries out of the cereal, but not the plain corn cereal.  Yum!
Leaves Type – an autumn scent that brings you right back to fall!  Dried apple peel with a dash of spices.  The description includes maple, but my nose doesn’t pick that up.  Cyn gets the maple a little.  Nice!
Sunflower Fields – free scent shot with order ; Sunflower, gardenia and baby powder; Cynthia loves florals like this…. A bright happy scent with powdery notes.

Black Label - Salty Dog – Everyone says that this smells like Juicy Fruit gum with a bit of spice… and they are dead on!  So freaking cray-cray!  The descriptions boasts apple, citrus, spice and pumpkin notes.. I just know it smells like Juicy Fruit!  J
Black Label - Singapore Sling – super complex with many notes.. from citrus to poppy seed muffins, vanilla cake, and musk.  It is very similar to a lemon poppy seed muffin with icing on top of it… so delish!  This will be a full size Black Label purchase in the future I am sure!

Whew!  That was massive!  This was my largest order to date... and unless I reorder a few lotions and bath salts, I don't see another order in my future for quite some time.  This should last a while though, don't you think?

November Candles by Victoria Bath and Body Order!

Are you ready!?

Here is the run down on my huge November order from CBV!  I broke this down into two posts... one for bath and body stuff and one for wax.  So, without further ado....here are the bath and body items created from the wonderful Melissa!

Bath Bomb Sundae, Eucalyptus Spearmint - 10.00
This sucker is smells amazing!  It is huge and cute to boot!  You can definitely tell that the mint in this is spearmint but the eucalyptus gives a bit of an earthy note.  We ordered this to use as a foot soak, but I could see this being wonderful in a bath!

Fizzy Bubble Bath Salts – 7.25 for an 8 oz.  also available in 16 oz sizes
Raspberry Guava – such a juicy and fruity scent… a favorite scent of mine!
Sea Salt & Lotus Blossom  - nice floral with clean notes, calming
Vanilla Bean Noel  - a yummy sweet marshmallow type scent
Bath Time With Pooh – clean without being overly clean, not overly sweet either
Sweet Snow  - a mix of vanilla and peppermint, will be great to use when you are stuffy and sick or if you have sore muscles
I have tried the Sea Salt & Lotus Blossom and even though I  would love longer lasting bubbles, my bath was enjoyable none the less.  The water was a gorgeous blue color.. I should have taken a picture!  The bubble issue may be from us having well water.   I know that the mineral content and such can effect that.   These have excellent moisturizing properties!

Lotions – 8 oz for 8.50
Champagne Pomegranate – a mix of Fizzy Pop and Pomegranate, another awesome fizzy scent
Eucalyptus Spearmint –smells just like the bath bomb, can’t wait to use this on my feet, especially in the summer because you get a cool feeling after putting the lotion on
Lemon Meringue – Cynthia loves lemon scented lotions so this is right up her alley!  Smells like a creamy sweet lemon.
Raspberry Guava – Just had to have this scent in lotion!
Sweet Snow – minty and sweet!
Sea Salt & Lotus Blossom – clean and fresh
White Nectarine & Pink Coral – interesting blend of peach, pineapple, orange, honeysuckle, rose, jasmine, and musk.  Not much musk, more fruity and floral. AMAZING in lotion!
These lotions are great!  Love the labels too!  If you have tried BBW lotions, the consistency is pretty similar.  However, I feel these have much longer lasting scent, especially paired with the bath salts, which is how I have tried it so far.  I took a bath last night and when I woke up the next morning, I still had the Sea Salt & Lotus Blossom scent clinging to me and my clothes.  LOVE!  I have very dry skin and these made my skin feel very soft and moisturized.  There was no greasiness at all.  Cynthia loves them because the lotion sinks in quickly but still does a great job at adding moisture.  She hates feeling  “sticky” or greasy after using lotion.

 Soaps – range in price
Lemon Meringue Soap - 7.00 – Love the whipped topping  and the cute lemon on the top!  Smells just like lemon meringue!
Mango Smoothie Soap  -  7.00- Smells freaking amazing!  So juicy!
Caramelized Pralines Soap  - 7.00- It has been so long since I have smelled this scent, that I was a little wary of ordering it, afraid of a popcorn smell.  I am so glad I ordered it!  A yummy “sticky smelling” scent with just enough nuttiness to round it off!  And look at the cute pecan on the top!
Eskimo Kisses Soap : - 6.50- Cynthia used this one already and loves it!  As you can see, she loves the cute green lips on the top, lol!
Berry Me Alive Soap - 6.50- This scent as a soap is just a bit different than the scent you get in wax form, as the cherry scent is not skin safe.  Melissa subbed it with Cotton Candy, which is so yummy in this!  I might need to try a CAS with this scent and Cotton Candy.  I really like the look of this soap as well!  The soaps are very moisturizing.  Even though I have had a few that have not meshed with my personal body chemistry, that does not deter me in finding the ones that work for me.  I love them that much!

 Mousse Soap Desserts - 6.50
Raspberry Guava – are you really surprised to see this scent?

Lemon Pound Cake -  Cynthia wanted something to blend with her Lemon Meringue soap…. I like this more than the meringue scent… a bit more bakery depth.

Blackberry – I didn’t know what to expect with this scent because I don’t believe CBV has a straight blackberry scent.  However, I have tried Blackberry Amber and really liked it and I like this scent as well.

These are super cute with the glitter and adornments!  They also later EXTREMELY well with just a bit of the mousse.  Just a little dab on a pouf and there ya go!

Well, you ready to place your own CBV bath and body order yet?!  LOL.  Hope you enjoyed the pics and descriptions... I will update as I use things!  Next up is the wax!

Fresh Cut Grass

Sorry that it has been so long since my last post... life has been super busy the past few weeks.  Let me just say that I am happy that Thanksgiving is over and life can get back to normal.. at least for a few weeks.

So, the CBV scent I have going in the melter is Fresh Cut Grass.  The description just says that nothing is sweeter than the smell of fresh cut grass.
To my nose, this is much more pungent than what I would think fresh cut grass would smell like.  It doesn't have much of a sweet tone to it.  It is reminiscent of grass but I don't think dead on, while Cynthia thought it was pretty close, with a bit more dirt smell.  I would love to mix this with something earthier like Jacob Black or Sharing a Sleeping Bag.

I will have a treat coming up shortly.... a huge haul and review of my most recent CBV order!  It consists of 9 candles, a refresher oil, 26 scent shots, 2 black label scent shots, 7 lotions, a bath bomb sundae, 5 bath salts, 3 mousse soaps, and 5 bar soaps.  So excited for this order...which should be here tomorrow.  We plan on doing a video as well as a written review.  I think it is my largest to date!!!

Forest Rain

The CBV scent going on the melter tonight is Forest Rain... and let me tell you, this is a nice earthy relaxing scent!
The description is aromatic Norfolk Pine, sandalwood, oakmoss, and light tropical florals.  I can smell all of those notes!  The floral notes are not super noticeable but are in the background.  I mostly get the pine, sandalwood and oakmoss.  I would say this is sort of similar to Sugared Spruce without the sweetness and maybe a bit more woody than Sugared Spruce.  I wasn't a huge fan of this one cold, but warmed up, it is changing my mind!

Finger Lickin Good

Last night, the CBV scent that was up next in our line up was Finger Lickin Good.  This is a L*sh dupe, but I must say I have never used or smelled any of their products so I don't know what they are supposed to smell like.  Out of that category, called Candleman's Closet, on CBV, the only ones I have tried and like are Peace and Bath Time with Pooh.
The scent description for this mentions orange, clove, strawberry, honey, and woody undertones.  Unfortunately, all I get is honey.  This reminds me of the scent shot I had of Honeybee with less floral notes.  I don't smell any orange or clove, or even sweetness from the strawberry.  This one didn't even get to a full melt before I had to shut it off.  :(  Can't love them all I guess!   If you are a fan of what is this is duping, you might enjoy this.

Today's CBV scent... Endless Love

Endless Love is a dupe of the Victoria's Secret fragrance, which I don't think I have ever smelled.  But if it smells like this, I might have to check it out!  The description of this is a delicate marriage of citrus and sage mingling with apple, melon, and ylang ylang.  It also has undertones of mossy woods and vanilla musk.
I think this smells like a nice fruity scented shampoo.  I am not a big fan of melon scents, but I don't really get any stand out melon in this.  I do get a bit of the same sage note that is in Mango Sage Tea, a fresh apple note, and a bit of green and musk notes.  I hope in the future Melissa puts this scent into soap form.  I think it would be lovely!

Cherry Blossom or Japanese Cherry Blossom?

Sorry it has been a few days!  I did house/pet sit for a friend over the weekend.  When I got home, we finished up Champagne Pomegranate and last night, lit up the Black Label in Godfather.  I think I have posted a picture before, but I did take a few last night.  I just haven't uploaded them off my camera as of yet.

Earlier today, I had my huge Cube candle of Love Shack going.  I meant to take a few pictures but was so busy with my project for Cost Accounting, that I totally forgot.  The cube candles are gorgeous though!  If you want to see what they look like, check out this link: http://www.candlesbyvictoria.com/cbv/cubecandle.html This sucker is over 2 lbs of wax... and now you can get this jar shape and size with glitter too!  http://www.candlesbyvictoria.com/cbv/glittercube.html  So pretty!

This evening we popped in the next scent we have lined up.... which was Cherry Blossom.  I believe this is Japanese Cherry Blossom as CBV doesn't list a plain Cherry Blossom scent.

This is a B&BW dupe... Japanese cherry blossoms, vanilla rice, oriental woods, and mimosa petals.  My mom loves this lotion and I don't think it is an exact dupe but it is nice.  The B&BW scent is more powdery.  This is a "clean" floral to my nose.... I do get a bit of the woods notes along with the floral notes.  It is nice, but I wouldn't say a dupe.
