Mango Peach Salsa

Today's scent is a great summer scent!  Mango Peach Salsa is a dupe for the Yankee scent of the same name and it is dead on in my book .  The scent description is: luscious tones of fruit are blended with warm spicy accents in this tempting creation.  Bright citrus notes of tangerine balance with fresh cherry for the tangy top note.  A heart of ripe peach mingles with strawberry, as hints of spice add delightful texture to the blend.  Floral undertones are enveloped in a clean musk base to complete the fruit sensation.  Wowza! 

I would categorize this as a juicy fruit scent.... I mainly get peach and mango, with a hint of citrus and strawberry.  I don't really get any floral notes or musk.  I can't really detect enough spice to say "hey, there is a spice note to this"... it more just adds depth, if that makes any sense.... kinda like not being able to put your finger on something, as the saying goes.  I guess in this case, it would be your nose, lol.  I do like this scent, however, there are some scents in the same vein as this one that I like more, such as Mango Smoothie.  Still, a great summer scent! 

Today's Melt: Lime Crystal Kisses

This is a nice fresh but sweet scent.  The scent description is lime infused with sweet sugar, kissed by lemons.  It smells like green Skittles to me.  I know Cynthia loves this because she loves Victoria's lemon/lime scents.  It is just ok to me.  It is really light, even in scent shot form.  With that and also the sweetness from the sugar, I like it more than I thought I would.  I don't know how this scent would do in candle form though.  I am afraid it might be too light. 

Yum, Lemon Gingersnap Pie!

This baby just knocked my favorite lemon scent back one spot! 

The notes in the description are lemon pound cake, gingerbread, and pie crust.  I wouldn't say I get "gingerbread" but that spicy ginger note is there... just enough to give this a little kick in the butt.  This is so comforting because of the pie and ginger notes but fresh and tart from the lemon.  It reminds me of those lemon bars that you make from a mix. I am VERY picky about my lemon scents because most lemon/lime/orange scents tend to remind me of household cleaning products.  This one and Lemon Pound Cake are winners in my book!

8/21 Heavy Metal

Today's melt of the day is Heavy Metal.  This is a dupe for a certain bath company that shall not be named... I also think of Voldermort when I say that, lol.

I love the color of this one... purple is my favorite color!  That is about all I like about this one though.  It is super super sweet, like, hurt your teeth sweet!  On cold sniff, all I could think of was paint thinner.  When warmed, that scent is still there but not as prominent.  If you like really sweet candy like scents, you might like this though. 

Grape Soda

In the melter today is Grape Soda from CBV. 

This one reminds me of a cross between grape soda and a grape candy.  It is not super fizzy like Fizzy Pop or some of the other fizzy scents but it is still there.  I am not a huge fan of grape scents, but this one is very pleasant.  :) 

Today's Scent

The CBV scent going today is Emperor's Love, a scent from The Candleman's Closet section.  These are dupes of a certain bath product company. 

The description to this one lists lemon, woodland strawberry, rose, hint of lavender, accents of ginger, rare woods and musk.  This is pretty complex because if I didn't read the description first, I don't think I could pick out any of these notes except the musk.  After reading the description, I do get the strawberry a bit and the woods.  Not a big hit with me or Cynthia.. but many people that use the CBV browser have this as a favorite though.  Everyone's nose is different! 

Wanna a Slice of Pie?

If you took a sniff of the air around here, you would think I just made a coconut cream pie!  Today's "burn" is CBV Coconut Cream Pie....

This smells like a really creamy coconut with a hint of the flaky crust.  I am not a huge fan of coconut scents, but this one is really good.  I could also see this being a good mixer scent. 

Short and sweet post today... this is a pretty simple scent.... but really yummy!

What's on my melter today?

Sorry that it has been a few days.... Cajun Cornbread lasted a long while and I was housesitting one night, so I was not home.  Today, I popped CBV's Cinnaberry in my melter.  This one is ok to me. 

The reason being is that there is a strange smell my nose picks up from it... not bad.. just out of place.  This scent is a blend of cinnamon and cranberry.  I get the cinnamon right off... but behind that.... a scent that smells like someone just opened a new package of Pampers in the room.  I know.... weird right?  I have heard many people talk about this scent being a great blend of cinnamon and berries, but I just don't get it.  As far as I know, my daughter and I are the only ones with weird noses with this scent.  *shrugs*  It is not a bad scent at all.  It is like a clean cinnamon... I could see this is in a bathroom. 

YUM!

Today's melt was love at first sniff!  The scent is CBV's Cajun Cornbread, which is a mix of Peach Preserves and Country Cornbread.  This smells just like warm peach cobbler to me... I even smell the golden crust!  I assume that is from the cornbread scent.  OMG.. I seriously want to eat this!

This scent is featured in the Mama's Peach Cobbler Comfort Candle, along with Maple Butter Crunch.  Love this candle.  The first comfort candle I had was the Caramel Apple Ginger Crisp one, which I loved as well, but this one may have bumped it out of the top spot when it comes to that line.  It now comes with cute little rolling pins on top as well! Melting a Fall Scent Today

It is a bit cloudy and gloomy today, so it is a great day to pop a fall scent into my melter!  This happens to be one of my favorite fall scents.... I give you Why I Autumn!

The color on this one is actually a bright yellow... just ignore the color on the pic.  The notes of this one are lemon, apple, anise, cinnamon, ginger, woods, musk and vanilla.  I get the woods and the peppery notes from the ginger and anise.  I get lemon, but not like lemon in bakery scents... just a nice citrus note.  I am so in love with the scent.... I have got to try the new CAS that was added to the permanent line that has this and Leaves Type.  Another one I think this would mix well with is the Leaves scent, which is different than Leaves Type.  Leaves Type is a spicy scent whereas Leaves smells like damp fall leaves on the ground.  I have Leaves, so I will update when I do end of mixing them.

CBV Daily Burn 8/4

The CBV scent on the melter tonight is Viva La Juicy, a dupe of the perfume of the same name.

 I was on the fence with this one on cold sniff and strangely, I am not getting much from it warm.  It is a nice musky, fruity scented fragrance, just not the strength level that I prefer.  I know this one gets a lot of love but it is not one of my must haves.  I believe it was mixed with Elvis in a CAS and I can see how that would actually work pretty well.  I might have to try it with the remainder of my SS in the future. 

Daily Burn for 8/2/2012

Today, we are melting the famous Tiffany D scent!  First off, this one is such a pretty blue color... more than the picture below shows... I can't remember how I auto corrected the colors in my pictures before. 

I really wanted to love this scent, but instead I just like it.  I know so many adore it.... I am just not a big melon fan.  I was hoping for more of the cotton candy to come through.  I would like to try mixing this with straight cotton candy or pink bubblegum crush (super sweet fragrance!) or even pink sugar.  I will make sure and post about whatever I mix it the other half I have when I do!
