Today's Burn/Melt: Margarita Lime

This evening, we popped on Margarita Lime, which is described on the site as fresh lime with hints of lemon rind and fresh greenery.

I like this one better warm than cold, but it still not a favorite of mine.  When it first started warming up and melting, it reminded me of lemon Pledge spray... a pretty normal occurrence for my nose when it comes to lemon/lime scents.  It has been on the melter for about an hour and now it smells a bit more fresh and tart.  I get a hint of fresh greenery notes.. nothing I can really pick out but the scent seems more than just lime and lemon.  If you like other CBV lemon and lime scents, you will like this one.  You know... it is pretty similar to a mix of lime and lemon skittles!  I just thought of that while I was sniffing the air, lol.
Have a good night!

Orange Clove

Hey everyone!  It has been crazy busy here and I don't see it slowing down any time soon.  When I have been home, which has been here and there, we have had Orange Clove going.  This scent shot I got from my CBV Pouring Pot Secret Santa, Jandre.  This girl has an amazing nose!

As per the name, this scent is a mixture of orange and clove.  I was afraid that the clove would be too overpowering, but surprisingly it wasn't.  This is another of the few orange scents that do not remind me of cleaner... anything with spices in it usually takes that away for me.  I really, really like this one, especially for a holiday scent.  Thank you Jandre!  :)

It is really funny how the past few years of Secret Santa's have went.  Last year, I gifted to Jandre, this year she got me!  And the picks were done by Elfster.com so it was just kismet! If my memory serves me correct, which is not that reliable so don't quote me, my match was the same way the 2 years before as well!  Funny and cool huh?  :)

Christmas Scents - White Christmas and Star of Bethlehem

Sorry that it has been a while since I shared my CBV addiction with you.  Between work, school, and house/pet sitting, I have not been home much at all.  I hope you all had a amazing holiday and are excited about 2013... I know I am!

Over the Christmas holiday (Christmas Eve and Day) as well as New Year's Eve, I melted White Christmas and Star of Bethlehem.

White Christmas is described as white florals with pine.  Jason (charmedleo) has described it was the winter version of White Ginger, which I totally agree with.  The pine is really strong and there is a kinda spicy floral note, if that makes sense.  This sucker is STRONG!  I always melt in my bedroom, however, this one was too strong for that and had to be moved to the open living room area.  It was perfect in that large of a space.  This scent is a totally different type of Christmas scent, one that I really enjoy.  In candle form, I think it would be fine for my small bedroom, but melting is just too overpowering for such a small space.  I would like to try mixing this will Vanilla Bean Noel to soften it just a bit or even Sugared Spruce to sweeten the pine.

I received Star of Bethlehem from my CBV Pouring Pot Secret Santa, Jandre.  This is one that I have never tried and has now become one of my favorite holiday scents.  Thank you girl!  The scent description includes frankincense, orange, clove and cinnamon.  That being said, on warm throw, this is not an overly spicy scent.  I get mainly orange and clove, but the earthiness of the frankincense comes out to mellow it a bit.  I get a little bit of bakery like cinnamon but not a whole lot.  I really like this scent and I am so thankful that Jandre shared this scent with me.  :)

I think later today I might put on the other scent Jandre gave me, which is Orange and Clove.  :)

Before I sign off, I thought I would share our tree with you as well as a few images I captured of the snow crystals.  It was so cool to be able to see all the different shapes and designs of the snowflakes!  The camera wasn't able to capture it as my eyes saw it, but the images still turned out pretty cool looking!

Lemon Blackberry Pie

Yum!  The scent we got going in the warmers on this snowy night (I am talking about about a foot of snow!!!)  is Lemon Blackberry Pie from CBV.
The scent is close to Lemon Meringue, Lemon Pound Cake and Lemon Gingersnap Pie.  The blackberry note is not there that much cold but when warmed it peeks out a bit.  I don't know if I would have been able to pick that scent out without having the Blackberry Mousse Soap though.  Since I had that and just used it, I could detect that note.  It is a really comforting warm scent, but I do prefer Lemon Gingersnap Pie.

Jelly Donut

The CBV scent of the day is Jelly Donut, which is a strawberry jelly-filled donut scent... and let me tell you, it is YUM!
I was not sold on this on first sniff, maybe because I don't enjoy jelly-filled donuts in real life.  The scent just  seemed too strong and tart.  Warmed up, OMG!  You definitely get the juicy sticky strawberry filling first, then the doughy saltiness of the donut comes out.   I think I would like this one even more in candle form and may have to get this in an  8 oz in my next order.  It is an nice change in pace from the normal bakery scents.  :)

Hot Maple Latte

Today's scent is one of the wonderful coffee scents that Candles by Victoria offers.  Maple Latte is described as a balanced blend of roasted coffee bean and sweet dark maple syrup topped with sweet cream.
Warm, this smells just like that.  You get the bitter coffee bean sweetened with the cream and maple.  I am not a huge fan of maple and it is a bit much for me, but Cynthia really likes this one.  I don't think it is her favorite coffee scent, but it doesn't disappoint either!

Fuzzy Navel

No, I do not have furry stuff growing out of my navel, lol.  I am talking about the scent called "Fuzzy Navel" from Candles by Victoria, which is amazing!
This is peach, orange and a bit of fizzy and that description is pretty dead on.  It is really juicy smelling and strong.  If you have tried Raspberry Guava, Mango Smoothie, or Champagne Pomegranate and liked them, you will like this as well.  It is in the same vein as those scents.

We have this going in the warmer right now, but earlier today we had an 8 oz jar of Elvis lit.  Love that fragrance.... a mix of peanut butter and banana.. perfection!
